HARTFORD, CT – The 17th Annual Connecticut Pet Show, sponsored by PETCO, the PETCO Foundation and the CT Humane Society, opens October 25th and 26th, 2008 at the Connecticut Expo Center. Hundreds of exhibitors are expected offering a wild weekend filled with animal entertainment and information plus pet products and services.
The CT Humane Society will be on hand both days with their Mobile Adoption Center. They will be sharing information about ALL the wonderful pets available for adoption within their facility. The CT Humane Society will take over the show ring at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm with fun and fantastic demonstration of their dog-training program.
The Connecticut Pet Show, features The AKC Parade of Purebred Dogs presented by the South Windsor Kennel Club and area clubs with over 150 purebred dogs on display, The International Cat Association Cat Show (TICA), with over 100 breeds of exotic and domestic purebred cats, The Rare and Ancient Dog Breed Show, featuring rare and AKC breeds in a live dog show competition, Circle K pony rides, K9 Frisbee Dogs & Ultimate Air Dogs “Live Dock Diving Competition”, Bwana Jim’s Alligator & Reptile Show, Doggie Talk’s Pet Fashion Show, plus over 125 vendors offering unique, one of a kind pet products and services and much more.

On Saturday from 2pm to 4pm meet TV and Radio personality Rachel Lutzker and on Sunday meet FOX TV’s Joe Furey from 1pm to 3pm.
Numerous local and national rescue leagues breed clubs and shelters will be on hand with information on dogs and cats available for adoption. Well-trained and socialized pets are invited to attend.
In addition to our exciting features, the Connecticut Pet Show offers the pet loving public an opportunity to learn more about responsible pet ownership and the care of your beloved pets, with exhibits for pet sitting, grooming, a wide variety of pet foods, boarding, training and health concerns. You can also shop for collars & leashes, bedding, clothing for pets and people, gifts and decorative accessories and a whole lot more!
The 17th Annual Connecticut Pet Show is produced by Jenks Productions, Inc. and runs October 25th and 26th, 2008. Show hours are Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 6 pm. Tickets are available at the door. Bring one or more non-perishable dog/cat food items and get $1.00 off an adult admission price. All proceeds go to Helping Paws Animal Shelter for distribution to area shelters and rescue operations.
